Signal Too High






Signal too high

Checking the signal from the hood switch




- Ignition on
- Read off the signal from the hood switch.
Open and close the hood so that the hood switch is affected. The signal should change status.
The fault is permanent if the signal does not change status.
If the status changes, this indicates an intermittent fault, i.e. the fault was present previously but is not active at the moment.

Checking cable and component
Check the signal cable between rear electronic module (REM) connector terminal #44 (#C4) and hood switch terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Read off the signal from the hood switch.
Open and close the hood so that the hood switch is affected. The signal should change status.

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
