Condition




The rear electronic module (REM) uses a number of relays to control the lock units in the rear doors for locking and unlocking.
The rear electronic module (REM) also activates the child-proof lock. A switch in the lock unit indicates that the child-proof lock is activated. The switch provides a ground when the lock motor is in the locked position.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the rear electronic module (REM) detects that the input from the switch for the child-proof lock inone of the rear doorsis still high 1 second after an activation command has been given.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the child-proof lock is activated.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the terminals
- The lock motor in one of the rear doors is stuck in one position
- Short-circuit to ground in the switch for indication of the lock motor position in one of the rear doors
- Short-circuit to ground in the cable from the switch for indication of the lock motor position in one of the rear doors
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the control cable to the lock motor
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the control cable to the lock motor from/to the relay for the child-proof lock
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the wiring to the relay for the child-proof lock from the power window switch
- Damaged relay for the child-proof lock.

Fault symptom[s]
- The child-proof lock does not function.
