Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information REM-6A01
Condition
The rear electronic module (REM) controls the lock units in the rear doors via a number of relays.
The rear electronic module (REM) receives an indication from the lock units about whether the central locking motor is in the locked or unlocked position. This information is provided by a switch in each lock unit. The switch must be closed when the lock motor is in the locked position.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the rear electronic module (REM) detects that the input from the switch in the left rear door is still high 15 seconds after the unlock command was given.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when locking the central locking.
Substitute value
- None.
Possible source
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the terminals
- Fault or short-circuit to supply voltage in the switch for indication of the lock motor position
- Open-circuit in the cable from the switch for indication of the lock motor position
- The lock motor is stuck in one position
- Open-circuit in the ground lead/ground terminal for the lock mechanism
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the control cable to the lock motors
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the control cable to the lock motors from/to the relay for the child-proof lock
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the wiring to the relay for the child-proof lock from the power window switch
- Damaged relay for the child-proof lock.
Fault symptom[s]
- Does not lock / unlock a door.
