Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Adjustments

Gear selector cables, adjusting

Preparatory work
Positioning the vehicle
Ensure that the vehicle is on a level surface. The parking brake must not be applied. Move the gear selector to position P. Ignition off.

Adjustment
Adjusting the gear selector cable





Release the adjuster on the gear selector cable by sliding the spring-loaded sleeve forwards and pulling the lug up to the release position. Press the lever forwards to the P position on the transmission (the foremost position of the lever).

Note: Check that P position is engaged: Try to roll the vehicle.





Check that the gear selector is in position P.
Press the lug on the cable down.
