Preparatory work
Remove the shock absorber. See: Shock absorber rear, replacing.
Removal
Removing the shock absorber bearing
Applies to standard shock absorbers:
Remove:
- 1 nut. Use: 999 7105 and: 999 7106
- the support plate
- the bump stop and the dust boot. Applies only to Nivomat shock absorbers:
Remove:
- 1 nut. Use: 999 5500 and torx socket
- the support plate
- the bump stop and the dust boot.
Checking components
Check the bump stop and dust boot for damage. Replace if necessary.
Installation
Installing the shock absorber bearing
Applies to standard shock absorbers:
Install:
- the bump stop and the dust boot
- the support plate
- 1 nut. Use: 9997105 and: 9997106
- Tighten. See: Specifications.
Applies only to Nivomat shock absorbers:
Install:
- the bump stop and the dust boot
- the support plate
- 1 nut. Use: 999 5500. Tighten. See: Specifications.
Finishing
Install the shock absorber. See: Shock absorber rear, replacing.
