Control arm upper, replacing

Preparatory work
Remove:
- the wheel
- the spring.

Removal
Removing the leak diagnostic pump
Applies only when replacing on the right-hand side:
Remove the pump for the leak diagnostic unit.

Removing the upper control arm








Remove the screw for the wheel spindle.
Remove:





- the screw x1 for the sub-frame
- the control arm.

Caution: Use a transmission jack to prevent damage to the screws.

Installation
Installing the control arm

Note: For tightening torques, See: Specifications

Install:
- the control arm
- the screw x1 for the sub-frame. Do not tighten yet
- the screw for the wheel spindle. Do not tighten yet.

Note: The rear suspension must be in the normal position when tightening all the joints in the rear suspension where rubber bushings are involved. See: Normal position.

Tighten the screws. For tightening torques, See: Specifications.

Caution: Use a transmission jack to prevent damage to the screws.

Installing the leak diagnostic pump
Applies only when replacing on the right-hand side:
Install the leak diagnostic pump.

Finishing
Install:
- the spring.
- the wheel.
