DESCRIPTION
If a US-Spec car is used in Europe, a change is needed in the car configuration file to get the RTI system to work correctly.
If the "RTI Application EU" software is not downloaded into a US-Spec car, the complete Infotainment system (Radio, CD, RTI etc.) will not work any more.
Use the software products mentioned under SERVICE 1-2 to get the required changes done.
NOTE 1
XC90 from MY 2007, C30, S40, V50, and C70 from MY 2008 has a hard disc drive (HDD) based MMI system called MMI+. A MMI+ has one set of maps on the HDD when leaving the factory, and that map is depending on the vehicle configuration. This means that a US_Spec car will only has the US map -and a EU-Spec car only has the EU map from the factory.
If a car is ordered with US specification, and that car shell be used in Europe, there is no possibility to use road navigation, as the MMI+ only contains the US map, until the procedure under SERVICE 1a-3a has been performed.

P3x platform vehicles, including the All New S60 MUST BE CHANGED MANUALLY IN THE CENTRAL DATABASE. Please contact your local help desk for assistence.

DVD based unit (MMM) XC90 - MY2006, C30, S40, V50, C70 - MY2007
1. Change regional navigation setting in the car configuration by downloading:
SW P/N 8691389 to change XC90 or SW P/N 30775822 to change C30, C70, S40 and V50
*2. Insert valid map disc for the applicable region (EU).
*EU-> US
*DVD based unit (MMM) XC90 -MY2006 C30, S40, V50, C70 -MY2007
*1. Change regional navigation setting in the car configuration by downloading:
*SW P/N 8691390 to change XC90 or SW P/N 30660209 to change C30, C70, S40 and V50
*2. Insert valid map disc for the applicable region (US).
*US -> EU
HDD based unit (MMM+) XC90 MY2007- C30, S40, V50, C70 MY2008-
1a. Change regional navigation setting in the car configuration by downloading:
SW P/N 8691389 to change XC90 or SW P/N 30775822 to change C30, C70, S40 and V50
2a. Insert valid MMM+ map disc for the applicable region (EU).
3a. The update procedure will start with copying the data to the HDD and when finished starting to erase the obsolete map data.

1a. Change regional navigation setting in the car configuration by downloading:
SW P/N 8691390 to change XC90 or SW P/N 30660209 to change C30, C70, S40 and V50
2a. Insert valid MMM+ map disc for the applicable region (US).
3a. The update procedure will start with copying the data to the HDD and when finished starting to erase the obsolete map data.
NOTE!
The procedure to change the HDD based system will take several hours. If the car is shut down during this process the process will start automatically when the car is turned on again. After the map update is finished the MMM+ will have the new map on the HDD and the system will automatically resume to operational mode. The map disc has to remain in the DVD-reader because it contains the valid license key.
