DESCRIPTION

DTC 436B "Leak diagnostic unit - signal missing" may be incorrectly set in any of the above vehicles due to an over sensitivity in the engine management software. This sensitivity is reduced by waiting a little longer for the pump current to stabilize during the reference phase of the leakage diagnostic monitor. In cases where DTC 436B is present the longer delay can be implemented by downloading the latest ECM software. After downloading the software run the Leakage diagnostic swift-test in VIDA to verify. (If the swift-test aborts run the test a second time and check for DTC's; fault trace any DTC's found at this point according to VIDA).

SERVICE

Upgrade the Engine Management Software using the ECM upgrade option in VIDA. Use software product number 30668282 (ECM upgrade).
