Oil pressure test

Note! When checking the oil level and oil pressure, the engine should be at normal operating temperature which corresponds to 15 minutes normal driving (100°C / 212°F). If the oil quality and type or oil filter condition cannot be determined, replace the oil and filter.

Removal

Removing components
Raise the vehicle.

Remove:
- the lower engine cover
- the plug for the oil pressure channel in the cylinder block.

Checking the oil pressure




Use: 999 5270 OIL PRESSURE METER 999 5270 Oil Pressure Meter. Connect the tool to the oil pressure sensor's channel on the cylinder block. Start the engine and read off the oil pressure at different engine rpms.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Tightening Torque.

Installing components

Install:
- the plug for the oil pressure line in the cylinder block. Use a new gasket. Tighten. See: Tightening torque, B5254T7 Tightening Torque
- the lower engine cover

Finishing
Start the engine. Check for leakage.
