Oil Spray Jet: Service and Repair






Valve, piston cooling

Special tools:
999 7103 Lifting beam 999 7103 Lifting Beam
999 5185 HOOK 999 5185 Hook

Preparatory work

Installing tool




Install lifting beam: 999 7103 Lifting beam 999 7103 Lifting Beam together with hook: 999 5185 HOOK 999 5185 Hook. Tension the tool. Lift the expansion tank and place on the engine.

Note! Ensure that no coolant escapes.

Marking the position of the engine pad




Mark the position of the engine pad on the frame member. Use a marker pen.

Removal

Removing components





Remove:
- the screws (1) for the limiter for the engine mounting in the right-hand frame member
- the limiter
- the screws (2) for the engine mounting in the cylinder head
- the engine mounting
- the screws for the front belt covers
- the front belt covers
- the right-hand front wheel
- the fender liner. Slacken off the screws in the front edge. Fold back the fender liner.

Removing the power steering pump pressure line





Caution! Seal the openings.

Note! Clear up any oil spillage under the delivery line.

Disconnect the delivery line from the power steering pump.

Removing the piston cooling valve





Note! Collect any oil spills under the valve using paper.

Lower the engine using the lifting beam. Expose the piston cooling nozzle.
Remove the piston cooling valve (2).

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Tightening Torque.

Installing the piston cooling valve





Note! Wipe clean the area around the piston cooling valve.

Install the piston cooling valve together with a new seal washer. Tighten. See: Tightening torque, B5254T7 Tightening Torque.

Installing the pressure line to the power steering





Note! Remove the seal.

Install the pressure line. Tighten.

Installing the engine pad




Install the engine pad according to the markings.

Installing components

Install:
- the fender liner
- the front wheel. See: Wheels Service and Repair. Lower the vehicle
- the front belt covers
- the screws for the front belt covers
- the engine mounting on the cylinder head. Tighten. See: Tightening torque, B5254T7 Tightening Torque
- limiter over the engine mounting right-hand side. Tighten to: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications. Remove lifting beam: 999 7103 Lifting beam 999 7103 Lifting Beam and hook: 999 5185 HOOK 999 5185 Hook.
- the expansion tank. Secure the hoses as described earlier.

Finishing

Checks
Start the engine. Check the function of the engine. Check for leakage. Remedy as necessary.
