Oil Cooler: Service and Repair






Oil cooler, engine

Removal

Removing the oil cooler




Raise the vehicle.

Remove:
- the lower splash guard. Clamp both the oil cooler coolant hoses together using lock grip pliers
- the coolant hoses from the oil cooler
Note! Collect the oil and the coolant that drains from the oil cooling system.

the oil cooler mounting screws. Lift down the oil cooler.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Tightening Torque.

Installing the oil cooler




Use new seals.
Grease the seals before installation.

Install:
- the oil cooler. Screw the 4 oil cooler screws into place. Tighten
- the coolant hoses using new clamps. Remove the lock grip pliers. Screw the splash guard into place.

Finishing

Checks

check:
- the engine oil level
- the coolant level.
Check for leakage as follows:
Start the engine and run it to operating temperature. Then check that there is no leakage.
Check if the oil or coolant needs topping up.
