Preparatory work
Release adjustment.
Removal
Removing the exhaust system
Remove:
- the 2 x nuts (1)
- the screw (2) for the rubber mounting.
Note: Hang up the three-way catalytic converter (TWC) in a suitable position.
Remove the rubber mounting from the exhaust pipe. Hang the exhaust system to one side in a suitable way.
Removing the heat deflector plate
Remove:
- the 4 x plastic nuts
- the heat deflector plate.
Removing the air baffle
Remove:
- the 2 x plastic nuts (1)
- the screw (2)
- the air baffle.
Note: The illustration displays the left-hand side. When replacing the cable on the righthand side, the same procedure applies with the right-hand air baffle.
Removing the heat deflector plate
Note: Applies only when replacing the cable on the left-hand side.
Remove:
- the 7 x plastic nuts
- the heat deflector plate.
Removing the brake cable
Remove:
- the cable at the power distributor
- the cable from brake caliper.
Slacken off and remove the cable from the clip.
Installation
Installing the brake cable
Install:
- the cable in the clips
- the cable in the brake caliper
- the cable in the power distributor.
Installing the heat deflector plate
Install:
- the heat deflector plate
- the 4 x plastic nuts.
Installing the heat deflector plate
Note: Applies only when replacing the cable on the left-hand side.
Install:
- the heat deflector plate
- the 7 x plastic nuts.
Installing the air baffle
Install:
- the air baffle
- the 2 x plastic nuts
- the screw.
Installing the exhaust system
Install:
- the 2 x M8 nuts
- the M8 screw for the front rubber mounting
- the rear rubber mounting.
Finishing
Adjust the parking brake. Adjustments
