Convertible Top: Adjustments






Roof, adjusting

Note! Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Removal

Remove the following items:
- front headlining Refer to: Front headliner Front Headliner
- middle headlining Refer to: Convertible Top Center Headliner Convertible Top Center Headliner
- rear headlining Refer to: Headliner rear Headliner Rear
- the hinge for the front headlining on both sides Refer to: Convertible Top Headliner Center Hinge Convertible Top Headliner Center Hinge

Adjustment
The roof panels must be adjusted internally on the roof system before adjusting against the body.
Use adjustment measurements. Refer to: Doors and hatches

Detach the windshield frame upholstery. Refer to: Headerrail Trim Panel Header Rail Trim Panel
Remove the locking brackets as illustrated.




Lock the roof sections without locking to the body.

The settings below are the default settings. After default settings are fine made, adjust the roof plates level using the locks.




Perform the basic adjustment of roof panels with shims.
















Center the brace (4,a).




Perform basic adjustment of the locks.








Distance between roof and lock at (2,a) shall be 4 mm.




Distance between roof and lock at (3,a), (3,b) and (3,c) shall be 6 mm.
When 'fine-tuning' the rear lock, the lock is angled to pull the roof panels in correct position.




Detach the link system at the rear edge.
Torque: M6, 10 Nm

Torque: M8, 24 Nm

Completely close the roof.
Center the roof system at the rear edge and front edge.




Pull out the link system at the rear edge and the locking brackets at the front edge.




Remove the supports on both sides.

Calibrate the roof system. Refer to: Roof calibration Programming and Relearning




Tighten the supports on both sides.





Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the function of the rear side window. Adjust if necessary. Refer to: Side window rear, adjusting Side Window Rear, Adjusting
Check the function of the side door window. Adjust if necessary. Refer to: Window, side door, adjustment Window, Side Door, Adjustment

Drive the vehicle on the road and listen for noise.
Splash the vehicle with water and check for leakage.
