AFFECTED VEHICLES
DESCRIPTION:
Volvo has found that in some cases a customer may report a rattling noise from the front and middle headlining area of the RHT. The corrective action is to add the foam block kit to the headliner.
MATERIAL
SERVICE:
Remove the headlining for both front and middle roof. Install an extra foam washer on each position to isolate the plastic clip movement, see the following.
Preparation
Open the RHT to the service position.
Headliner Removal
Remove both the front and center headlining, refer to VIDA:
- Removal, replacement and installation
- 8 Body and interior
- 85 Interior
- 855 Other upholstery
- Convertible Top Center Headliner and Front headliner
Foamblock PN 31256661
Install a foam washer onto each clip of the front headlining (8 total).
Install a foam washer onto each clip of the middle headliner (8 total).
Reinstall both the front and center headlining, refer to VIDA:
- Removal, replacement and installation
- 8 Body and interior
- 85 Interior
- 855 Other upholstery
- Convertible Top Center Headliner and Front headliner
Test drive the vehicle to ensure the noise is eliminated.
