Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

Window, front door.

Preparatory work




Lower/raise the window until its top edge is 100 mm from the weatherstrip.

Removal

Removing the side window





Remove:
- the subwoofer as described in Loudspeaker, side door front Loudspeaker, Side Door Front
- the run-off plastic.




Remove the screw in the rear edge of the window.
Loosen the screw in the front edge of the window. Rotate approx. two turns.




Remove the inner weatherstrip.
Detach the rear edge of the outer weatherstrip.

Remove:
- the window pane by pulling it up and angling up the rear edge
- the retaining bracket in the rear edge of the window

Installation

Installing the side window

Note! For tightening torques, see: Specifications. [1][2]Specifications

Fit the retaining bracket to the rear edge of the window.

Hint: Tape the retaining bracket into place before fitting the window pane in the door.

Install
- the window pane by angling in the front edge first
- the M8 screw in the rear edge of the window
- the M6 screw in the front edge of the window
- the inner weatherstrip
- the rear edge of the outer weatherstrip
- the run-off plastic
- the subwoofer as described in Loudspeaker, side door front Loudspeaker, Side Door Front.
