DESCRIPTION:

The main reason for replacing an IAM-6CD Changer is reported to be one or more CDs stuck inside, and Eject not working.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION:

* A new generation of CD Changer (called CDX3) is now introduced.

* Note:
C30 cars have this new CD Changer installed from production start.

MATERIAL RETURN: No.

We have received enough material for root cause analyses.

Return failing parts into the exchange system.

TECHNICAL REPORT:

* Please report only cases of stuck CD(s) on cars above the indicated chassis number ranges.

SERVICE:

If a replaced CD Changer with CD(s) stuck inside is returned into the exchange system, you must take care that a correctly filled-in AUDIO SERVICE FORM is sent together with the unit:

- Make a print-out of the AUDIO SERVICE FORM as attached to TJ 5722

- Fill-in the form with all available information.

- Clearly indicate the CD return shipment address.

- Send IAM with CD(s) stuck inside and AUDIO SERVICE FORM enclosed.

NOTE:
Before replacing an IAM with CDs stuck inside, you should try to Eject the CDs by using VIDA:

DIAGNOSTICS / VEHICLE COMMUNICATION / IAM / Activations / Deck Status / Eject.
