Description of Frozen Values, PHM
Description of frozen values
Explanation
Not all the parameters that are described need to be implemented in the control module. These varies from system to system.
The number of parameters can also vary between diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
Frozen values are parameter values that are stored when a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
Engine running, status
The status displays whether the engine was running when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
The phone module (PHM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN).
No = the engine was not running
Yes = the engine was running
Passenger compartment temperature, value
Measurement range: -60-195 °C.
The value indicates the passenger compartment temperature at the time the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
The phone module (PHM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN).
Outside temperature, value
Measurement range: -128-127.75 °C.
The value indicates the outside temperature at the time the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
The phone module (PHM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN).
Battery voltage, central electronic module (CEM), value
Measurement range 5-30 V.
Normal value when the generator (GEN) is charging: 13.0-14.5 V.
The parameter indicates the supply voltage to the central electronic module (CEM) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
The phone module (PHM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN).
Distance, value
Measurement range 0-1,000,000 km.
The parameter indicates the mileage when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
The phone module (PHM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN).
Power supply, value
Measurement range 5-66 V.
The value indicates the power supply to the phone module (PHM) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
Temperature unit, value
Measurement range -127- 127 °C.
The value indicates the internal temperature in the phone module (PHM) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
The normal temperature is approximately 70 °C but this may vary depending on whether the air conditioning (A/C) or heater is in use.
Signal strength GSM, value
Measurement range 0 -31.
The value indicates the signal strength for GSM phone modules (PHM).
The value of the signal strength depends on the coverage and geographical location of the vehicle. The value for normal coverage/reception should be approximately 20-25.
Description of frozen values
Explanation
Frozen values are parameter values that are stored when a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
Not all parameters can be read off for all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). The parameter values can only be read off where they can provide more information about the prevailing circumstances when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
Parameters, value
Global time
The value shows the actual time in minutes when the diagnostic trouble code was generated. The Phone module (PHM) obtains the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the controller area network (CAN).
Total mileage (km/miles)
The value indicates the total distance the vehicle had travelled when the diagnostic trouble code was generated. The Phone module (PHM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the CAN network.
MECU power supply
Measurement range 0 - 63 V.
Normal range: 12.0 - 14.5 V.
The value indicates the supply voltage to the central electronic module (CEM) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
Passenger compartment temperature
Measurement range: -40 to +215 °C.
The value indicates the passenger compartment temperature when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
Engine running
Indicates whether the engine was running when the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) was generated.
No = engine was not running.
Yes = engine was running.
