Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-002F

Condition

The automatic transmission checks whether the lock-up solenoid is disengaged or slipping by comparing the speed signal from the transmission output speed sensor with the transmission speed (RPM) signal from the transmission speed sensor. The signals should show the same calculated speed (RPM).
The transmission control module (TCM) also compares the speed from the transmission speed sensor with the engine speed (RPM). The engine speed (RPM) should then be greater or less than the transmission speed depending on the gear selected. If the transmission control module (TCM) detects that vehicle speed and transmission speed signals do not correspond with the calculated values, the lock-up solenoid SLU is slipping or is not engaged. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed during normal driving.

Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) does not activate the lock-up solenoid.

Possible source
- Lock-up solenoid does not work.
- Poor quality transmission fluid.
- Mechanical fault in the transmission.

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- No lock-up function.
