Short-circuit to ground

Checking the cable








- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector for the left-hand subwoofer behind the rear seat.
- Disconnect the 16-pin connector for the Subwoofer module (SUB).
Check the cable terminals in the female and male sections of the connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the signal cable between the Subwoofer module (SUB) terminal #B5 and right-hand bass speaker terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the signal cable between the Subwoofer module (SUB) terminal #B12 and right-hand bass speaker terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that there is sound from the loudspeakers for the Subwoofer module (SUB).

Is the function OK?

Yes - Troubleshooting procedure complete

No - Replacing a component

Replacing a component
The subwoofer module (SUB) has registered an internal fault.
If the fault is intermittent it means that it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can occur for a number of different reasons. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.
In the event of a permanent fault, replace the subwoofer module (SUB).
