Checking the quantity of fuel and battery voltage
- Ignition on.
Read off the values for the fuel level and battery voltage.
"Fuel level, status" is the reading of the lowest permitted amount of fuel for the heater to start.
"Total fuel level" is the reading of the total fuel level in the fuel tank.
Compare "Fuel level, status" with "Total fuel level".
"Lowest permitted battery voltage" and "Highest permitted battery voltage" are readings of the permitted voltage range for the heater to start.
"Read 30-supply" is the reading of the battery voltage.
Compare "lowest/highest permitted battery voltage" with "Read 30-supply".
Check that the fuel and voltage criteria for starting the heater are satisfied.
Remedy as necessary.

Warning! Use protective gloves and protective goggles due to the risk of fuel spillage.
- Disconnect the fuel line from the heater
- Position a container under the fuel line.
Activate the fuel pump (FP).
Check that the fuel is pumped out evenly and that there is no air in the fuel lines.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition on
- Position a glass gauge with a capacity of at least 15 cm3 under the fuel line.
Activate the heater.
On activation of the heater sequence, the heater starts up and operates for approximately 2 min 30 s. The fuel pump starts pumping fuel after approximately 45 seconds.
During measurement, remember to hold the container level with the heater. The fuel pump is automatically switched off after 90 seconds.
Do not interrupt the heater sequence. The heater is switched off automatically after approximately 2 min 30 s.
When the heater sequence is completed the read out of whether or not flames were detected can be made.
Compare the amount of fuel in the glass gauge with the values in the table below.
The fuel pump must be replaced if the measured amount of fuel exceeds the maximum value or is below the minimum value.

Checking the intake air flow
- Disassemble the heater.
Check that the air flow through the heater is free (that the air intake and exhaust are not blocked).
Also check that the flame sensor is not clogged with soot or damaged.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
Note! Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) must be erased to start the heater. Before erasing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) all indicated faults must be corrected.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Note! It is important that only the ignition is on in order for the heater to start.
- Activate the heater.
On activation of the heater sequence, the heater starts up and operates for approximately 2 min 30 s. A buzzing sound must be heard from the heater.
Do not interrupt the heater sequence. The heater is switched off automatically after approximately 2 min 30 s.
When the heater sequence is completed the read out of whether or not flames were detected can be made.
