Checking the status
- Ignition on.
Check that the courtesy lighting switch is in the auto position.
Activate the courtesy lighting
Check if the fault is permanent or intermittent.
The courtesy lighting must light on activation.
The fault is permanent if the courtesy lighting does not activate.
If the courtesy lighting is activated, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i.e. the fault is intermittent.

Checking the component and wiring
Check the voltage on the courtesy lighting connector terminal #12 to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 0 V when the courtesy lighting is activated.
Check control signal cable for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #D3 (#3) and roof lamp connector terminal #12.
Remedy as necessary.

Click the VCT2000 symbol to activate and deactivate the courtesy lighting.
Check that the function is OK.
