Badges, rear, replacing

As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Removing the badge
Use a hot-air gun to carefully heat up the badge.
Carefully lift up one edge of the badge.

Note! Do not damage the car paintwork.

Remove:
- the badge
- any tape residue.

Installing the badge





Use the following dimensions for the Volvo badge:
M1 = 538±1.5 mm (21.18")
M2 = 26±1 mm (1.02")





Use the following dimensions for the model designation:
M3 = 27±1 mm (1.06")
M4 = 33±1 mm (1.30")
M5 = 90±1 mm (3.54")
M6 = 41±1 mm (1.61")
Ensure that the car is at least at room temperature (<20°C).
Wash the area for the badge. Use a 50/50 mixture of isopropanol and water.
Wipe clean and dry using a lint-free cloth.

Note! In order for the badge to secure, the surface must be clean and free of dust and grease.

Remove the protective film from the tape.

Note! Leave the foil in place.

Guide the badge into the position indicated in the dimensions. Press the whole badge to ensure the tape is in good contact with the base.
Check that the edges of the badge are against the base.

Note! To ensure optimal adhesion, do not wash the car for 72 hours.
