Checking the Carphone Handset
Checking the carphone handset
Checking components and wiring
The carphone handset will not function in the event of an open-circuit or short-circuit in the wiring, of a defective handset or faulty connectors. This means that the user will only be able to use the handsfree function.
Checking the connectors and cables
Check the power supply cable between phone module (PHM) connector terminal #11 (#53) and handset connector terminal #5 (#25). Check for an open-circuit.
Check the ground cable between phone module (PHM) connector terminal #B6 (#48) and handset connector terminal #3 (#23). Check for an open-circuit, for a short-circuit to ground and a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the connectors for loose connections, damaged or bent terminal pins and oxidation.
Try replacing the carphone handset if no fault is found.
