Front Cross-Member Bushing: Service and Repair






Bushing front sub-frame, replacing

Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.










Removal

Remove the rear wheels.




Position a lifting table under the rear suspension.

Remove:
- the 2 x front mountings for the sub-frame
- the 4 x screws for the subframe brackets
- the brake hose mounting stays from mountings on the brackets
- the brake pipes from the plastic clips
- the mounting for the fuel filter on the right bracket.
Lower the rear suspension carefully.




Press out the bushing

Use special tool:
- 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder together with 951 2566 Hydraulic pump 951 2566 Hydraulic Pump
- 999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400
- 999 7046 Drift 999 7046 Drift
- 999 7054 Adapter incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 999 7054 Adapter Incl. 2x MC6C M6X12
- 999 7094 Support 999 7094 Support
- 999 7095 Socket 999 7095 Socket
- 999 7096 Ring 999 7096 Ring
- 999 7132 Nut M12 999 7132 Nut M12

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications [1][2]Mechanical Specifications.





Note! Align the bushing in relation to the sub-frame.




Press in the bushing.

Use special tool:
- 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder together with 951 2566 Hydraulic pump 951 2566 Hydraulic Pump
- 999 5082 Socket 999 5082 Socket
- 999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400
- 999 7046 Drift 999 7046 Drift
- 999 7054 Adapter incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 999 7054 Adapter Incl. 2x MC6C M6X12
- 999 7096 Ring 999 7096 Ring
- 999 7132 Nut M12 999 7132 Nut M12





Warning! Always check that the car does not lift from the lifting arms of the car lift when working with the lifting table.

Carefully raise the rear suspension.

Install:
- the bracket for the fuel pre-filter, (M8)
- the bracket for the brake pipe, (M8)
- the 4 x M12 screws for the brackets to the sub-frame.

Install the rear wheels. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
