Condition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) PHM-0012 is stored if the phone module (PHM) registers that there is a short-circuit to ground in the power supply to the handset.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) PHM-0012 can be diagnosed with the ignition on (not key position 3) and when the battery voltage is 9-16 V.

- Only hands-free operates.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the wiring (power supply) to the handset from the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- The handset does not function.
