Checking components and wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the connector for the right headset panel.
Hint: If the fault is intermittent it means that the fault has disappeared. Erase the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and read out again. If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) recurs, fault trace.
Check the buttons on the right-hand headset panel. Test the buttons by changing between previous and next track selection and changing between CD/MD and radio.
Check the cable terminals in the female and male sections of the connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the signal cable between terminals #10 and #8 in the connector for the right headset panel. The resistance must be approximately 39 kOhms.
Check the signal cable between terminals #10 and #9 in the connector for the right headset panel. The resistance must be approximately 39 kOhms.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that the buttons for the headset output function. Check this by pressing the buttons for the next track and the previous track and by changing between the CD/MD and the radio using the SEL button.
