Signal missing

Checking components and wiring








- Ignition off
- Disconnect the connector for the left headset panel.
Check the buttons for the left headset output 1. Test the buttons by changing between previous and next track selection and changing between CD/MD and radio.
Check the connectors. Check for loose connections and oxidation.
Check the cable terminals in the female and male sections of the connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #C15 and headset terminal #10 in the left C-post. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #C16 and headset output 1 terminal #8 in the left C-post. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the resistance between terminals #8 and #10 in the connector for the left headset panel. The resistance must be approximately 39 kOhms.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that the buttons for the headset output function. Check this by pressing the buttons for the next track and the previous track and by changing between the CD/MD and the radio using the SEL button.
