Signal too high / low

Checking the wiring








- Ignition off
- Disconnect the connectors for the rear loudspeakers
- Disconnect the 16-pin connector for the audio module (AUD).

Hint: Certain systems may have two loudspeakers connected on the same signal cable, one treble loudspeaker in the D-post and one rear loudspeaker. For further information, see the wiring diagram.

Note! The treble loudspeaker in the D-post is not included in all systems. Check whether the treble loudspeaker is included.

Check the cable terminals in the female and male sections of the connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #B4 and loudspeaker terminal #2 in the rear left door. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #B12 and loudspeaker terminal #1 in the rear left door. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #B5 and loudspeaker terminal #2 in the rear right door. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #B13 and loudspeaker terminal #1 in the rear right door. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that sound can be heard from the loudspeakers from the Audio module (AUD) by trying the radio FM/AM, CD or MD player.
