Backup Battery Volvo On Call Plus, Replacing

Removing the backup battery
- Remove the radio and carphone.
- Remove the keypad.
- Remove the two Torx 6 screws as illustrated.
- Open the hatch and lift out the battery.
- Press the catch using a screwdriver to disconnect the connector.
NOTE:
- Be very careful when releasing the catch. The connector and printed circuit board are fragile.
- On the old battery, mark a cross in the box on the battery decal, when the backup battery has been replaced. This prevents new and old batteries from being mixed up.
Installing the backup battery
Install:
- the connector on the printed circuit board.
NOTE: Check that the catch locks the connector.
- the hatch
- the two screws
- the keypad
- the radio and carphone.
The counter must be reset when a new backup battery has been installed. To reset the backup battery.
Cable harness Volvo on Call Plus, repair

Exposing the cable harness
Remove:
- the center console.
- the radio.
- the phone module (PHM). Disconnect the connector at the SRS (supplemental restraint system) control module.
Repairing cable harnesses
NOTE:
- If an airbag(s) has deployed, the cable harness must be checked.
- If an airbag(s) has deployed, the status of the reserve battery must be checked.
The following terminals are for Volvo On Call Plus:
- The connector at the SRS (supplemental restraint system) control module: Terminal B28 /yellow/white cable).
- Connector at the keypad: Terminal 17 (Yellow/white cable).
- Repair the cable harness.
NOTE: The cable between the carphone and SRS (supplemental restraint system) control modules (yellow/white) is joined in the cable harness and is routed to the central electronic module.
