Checking the brake fluid level guard

Checking the wire and handbrake contact




- Ignition off.
- Check function of brake fluid level guard. Measure the voltage between brake fluid level guard 1 and 2.
When fluid level is low the voltage should be 0 V, and when level is full the voltage should be 12V.
Check wires between combined instrument 5, and brake fluid level guard 1 for a short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.








- Ignition off.
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Fill brake fluid to maximum level.
- Ignition on.
Brake fluid lamp should not be on.
