NOTE: As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Removing decorative tape

Carefully heat up the decorative stripe. Use a hot-air gun. Carefully pull off the tape.

NOTE: Do not damage the car paintwork.

Remove any tape residue.

Installing decorative tape

Use the following measurements:

M1 = 289 ± 2 mm
M2 = 25 ± 1.5 mm

NOTE: Ensure that the car is at least at room temperature (above 20 °C).

Wash the area for the decorative stripe. Use a 50/50 mixture of isopropanol and water.
Wipe clean and dry using a lint-free cloth.

CAUTION: In order for the decorative stripe to adhere, the surface must be clean and free of dust and grease.

HINT: Guide the decorative stripe into place following the listed dimensions. Mark the location using water based ink or a marker pen.

Do not remove all the backing at the same time. Leave the foil in place.

Install the decorative stripe. Start from either the left or the right-hand side.
Then carefully peel off the backing. At the same time, secure the decorative stripe using a plastic scraper or similar.
Ensure that the decorative stripe is secure before removing the foil.
Use a nail to pierce any air bubbles. Then press out the air bubble using a finger.

NOTE: To ensure optimal adhesion, do not wash the car for 72 hours.
