Checking the steering shaft boot

Hint: If the steering shaft boot is not correctly located or is damaged noise from the engine compartment can penetrate the passenger compartment.

- Fold the floor carpet out of the way.
Check that the steering shaft boot which seals at the base of the lower steering shaft is correctly located and not damaged.
Remedy as necessary.
