Washer Fluid Level Switch: Service and Repair
Windshield washer reservoir/Level sensor, windshield washer reservoir, replacing
Removal
Windshield washer reservoir assembly
Work in the engine compartment
- Remove the fuel filler pipe. Remove the hose
- Remove the hose from the filter.
Work under the car
- Raise the car
- Remove the air baffle on the right-hand side
- Turn the front wheels to the right
- Cut off or drill out the three lowest pop rivets for the fender liner. Remove the remains of the rivets
- Remove the screws (3 x) for the windshield washer reservoir. Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
Washer motor
- Remove the windshield washer reservoir. See instruction Windshield washer reservoir assembly
- Angle the windshield washer reservoir so that the windshield washer fluid does not leak. Alternatively empty the reservoir
- Remove the hose from the motor
- Disconnect the connector from the motor
- Pull off the motor.
Rubber seal
- Remove the windshield washer reservoir. See instruction Windshield washer reservoir assembly
- Remove the washer motor. See instruction Washer motor
- Pull off the seal.
Level sensor
- Remove the windshield washer reservoir. See instruction Windshield washer reservoir assembly
- Disconnect the connector from the washer motor
- Remove the level sensor
- Thread the level sensor and switch through the hole on the reservoir.
Filter and hose
- Remove the windshield washer reservoir. See instruction Windshield washer reservoir assembly
- Remove the hose from the motor
- Remove the hose from the mountings on the side and under the reservoir
- Remove the hose and filter.

Washer motor
Note! Before installing the pump, immerse the inlet pipe in water or a soap solution to avoid compressing the rubber seal.
- Press the motor into position. Check that the motor is in the correct position against the seal
- Install the hose
- Connect the connector
- Install the windshield washer reservoir.
