Checking the ground terminals




- Ignition off.
- Control unit disconnected.
- Switch off all battery loadings such as entrance lighting and radio.
Connect an ohmmeter between the battery negative lead and test box 14.

The ohmmeter should display approximately 0.

OK - DONE

Not OK - contact resistance and oxidation.

Checking for open circuits, contact resistance and oxidation.
Check ground points 53/400 and 31/83 for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , and for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.




- Ignition off.
