Rear Door Panel: Service and Repair

Panel rear side door, replacing

Note! The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Preparatory work




Ignition off.
Remove the key.

Warning! The key must be removed to ensure that the ignition is not switched on by mistake.

Note! After removing the key, wait 1 minute before starting work.

Removing the panel from the rear side door





Remove:
- the surround for the inner door opener
- the cover in the inner door handle
- the screw by the inner door handle
- the 4 press clips.
Carefully pull the bottom of the panel to release it.
Lift off the panel at the top edge.
Disconnect the connectors.

Note! The door panel assembly is not available as a replacement part. The components must either be transferred from the old door panel or ordered as separate components.

Transferring components panel rear side door

Note! The replacement part for the rear door panel does not have a hole for the loudspeaker. For models equipped with the loudspeakers, cut out a hole from the reverse side of the panel.

Transfer:
- the keypad unit, which is secured by snap-in clips on the rear side of the panel
- the trim strip, which is located on the rear side of the panel
- the surround for the handle, secured by snap-in clips
- the cover for the closing handle, secured by snap-in clips
- the lock button bushing, which is pressed in from the rear side of the panel
- the courtesy lighting, secured by snap-in clips.

Installing the panel in the rear side door
Install the connectors.
Hang the panel at the top edge.
Align the panel with the door arch. Press the front edge down.
Finally align the lock button and press the panel down.

Note! Check that the hole pattern for screws at the inner door handle corresponds to the pattern of holes in the door panel. This makes it easier to secure the panel to the door, because there is a detachable clip in the front edge of the rear edge of the panel.

Press the panel into place against the door.

Install:
- the 4 press clips
- the screw by the inner door handle. Tighten
- the cover in the inner door handle
- the surround for the inner door opener.
