Checking sensors

Select the relevant sensor
1. Checking the tilt sensor.

Checking the tilt sensor
Check the rear electronic module connector and the tilt sensor connector for defects and an open-circuit.
Check the ground connection between tilt sensor connector terminal #5 and ground terminal 31/72. Check the cable and connector in the cable harness between these two points. Was a fault detected?

Yes - Verifying sensors

No - Replacing sensors

Checking the movement sensor
Check the upper electronic module connector and the mass movement sensor connector for defects and an open-circuit.
Check the ground connection between mass movement sensor connector terminal #5 and ground terminal 31/83. Check the cable and connector in the cable harness between these two points. Yes - Verifying sensors

No - Replacing sensors

Select the relevant sensor
1. Verifying the tilt sensor.
2. Verifying the movement sensor.

Verifying the movement sensor
- Open the window. Lock the car with the remote control.
- Wait 25 seconds until the alarm is active. Then trigger the alarm by reaching into the car.

Does the alarm go off?

Yes - Procedure complete

No - Information

Verifying the tilt sensor
- Open the tailgate and press in the striker plate so that it cannot be closed.
- Lock the car with the remote control.
- Wait 25 seconds until the alarm is active. Trigger the alarm by detaching the tilt sensor and twisting it.

Does the alarm go off?

Yes - Procedure complete

No - Information

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
