Cable fault. Permanent fault

Checking the component and wiring




- Ignition off.

Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the SRS control module.

Check the cable between the SRS and the terminal of the side impact sensor connector according to the following:

for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00B0,
front left side impact sensor #8A(8), #9A(9) and connector #1, #2.

for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00B5,
front right side impact sensor #8C(4), #9C(5) and connector #1, #2.

for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00BA,
rear left side impact sensor #27A(27), #28A(28) and connector #1, #2.

for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00BF,
rear right side impact sensor #27C(23), #28C(24) and connector #1, #2.
for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.




- Ignition off
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead.

Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.

- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
The fault is no longer present if the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status is intermittent.





Is the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) intermittent?

Yes - Verification completed

No - Fault-tracing information
