Checking components and wiring
Hint: Brake and release the brakes to check that the stop lamps are functioning correctly. If the stop lamp does not work, the fault may be due to overheating. If this is the case, wait approximately 10 minutes and check whether the fault was due to overheating.
Check the connectors for the rear electronic module (REM) and tail lamps. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections. Check for damage carefully.
Check the power supply cable between rear electronic module (REM) terminal #4D (#B04) and connector terminal #7 on the left tail lamp. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Also check the power supply cable between left tail lamp connector terminal #7 and right tail lamp terminal #7. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Try a new brake light if no faults were found.
Remedy as necessary.
