Signal too low. Permanent fault

Checking the wiring and component




- Ignition off.
Check the cable between car-phone control module A13 (terminal #13) and power supply for the handset D7 (terminal #38) for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Try replacing the car-phone handset if no fault is found in the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Switch on the car-phone.
Make a call so that both the handset and the hands-free system are used. See the instruction manual.
Ignition off.
Ignition on.
Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
Check that the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has switched status from permanent to intermittent fault.
