Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) PHM-0008 is stored if the car-phone module registers that the signal to the hands-free microphone is missing.

Substitute value
- Only the handset functions.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in the wiring (MIC signal) between the hands-free microphone and the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- Hands-free mode does not function
- Message in the text display (for car phones with Volvo On Call).
