Checking the wiring and component
Hint: The Hands-free loudspeaker is connected to the car-phone module via a connector under the driver's seat
- Ignition off.
Check the cable between car-phone module connector A5 (terminal #5) and the hands-free loudspeaker connector B9 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the cable between car-phone module connector A4 (terminal #4) and the hands-free loudspeaker connector B10 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Try replacing the hands-free loudspeaker if no fault is found in the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.

- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Switch on the car-phone.
Make a call so that both the handset and the hands-free system are used. See the instruction manual.

Check that the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has switched status from permanent to intermittent fault.
