Checking before installing





Note! The input shaft must be lubricated before the gearbox is installed. Refer to: Input shaft, cleaning, B5254T2, M58, B5244T5, M66, B5254T2, M56 Procedures

Check that the gearbox and engine mating surfaces are absolutely clean.
Also check that the guide sleeves on the engine are in place and fault free.
Lubricate the holes in the gearbox (for the guide pins). Use a little grease. This also applies to the guide holes for the starter motor.




If the transmission is replaced by a new one, transfer components to the new transmission.

Tighten:
- starter motor. Refer to: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications
- brackets, M8
