Anti-roll bar rear, replacing

Removal

Removing the anti-roll bar




Raise the car.

Remove:
- one of the spring struts. See Spring strut rear, replacing, M58, M66 AWD, AW50/51 AWD Spring Strut Rear, Replacing
- the exhaust pipe, starting from the front
- the parking brake cable from the sub-frame.





Remove:
- the anti-roll bar from the outer mountings. Counterhold the ball joint so as not to damage the boot
- the screws holding the anti-roll bar in the sub-frame
- the anti-roll bar.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.

Note! To ensure that there is no exhaust leakage, see: Flanged joint, assembling Flanged Joint, Assembling.

Installing the anti-roll bar

When replacing the rear anti-roll bar
Transfer the inner mountings to the new anti-roll bar.





Install:
- the anti-roll bar
- the screws holding the anti-roll bar in the sub-frame. Tighten. See Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications
- the anti roll bar outer mountings. Tighten. See Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications. Counterhold the ball joint so as not to damage the boot.





Install:
- parking brake cable mounting. Tighten to 25 Nm
- the exhaust pipe. Tighten the six mounting points. See Tightening torque Tightening Torque.

Note! Install a new flange gasket.

- the spring strut. See Spring strut rear, replacing, M58, M66 AWD, AW50/51 AWD Spring Strut Rear, Replacing.
