Replacing lateral links
Removal
Note! The illustrations may be slightly different for different models.
- Raise the car
- remove the wheel
- remove the spring strut from the lower control arm
Note! The spring strut is slightly compressed
Remove
- the bracket for the brake hose
- the mounting strut for the brake hose from the mounting on the bracket at the front of the sub-frame.
Remove
- the screw for the lateral link at both ends
- the lateral link.
Installation
Install
- the lateral link with new screws. Do not tighten yet
- treat the screws with rustproofing agent (P/N 1381065-0).
Press the suspension up to its normal position, see Normal position Normal Position.
- Tighten the screws for the lateral link. Tighten to 80 Nm
- Remove the mobile jack.
Install
- the spring strut on the lower control arm. Use a larger jimmy bar to bend the lower control arm down and align the spring strut against the control arm.
- tighten the spring strut to the control arm. Tighten to 80 Nm.
- Install the mounting strut for the brake hose on the bracket at the front of the sub-frame
- install the wheel according to Installing wheels Service and Repair
- lower the car.
