Removal

Preparations
Remove:
- the wheel
- the brake line bracket
- the brake caliper. Hang up in a suitable position
- the brake disc.
Disconnecting the lateral link
- Secure the lower control arm slightly against the jacking point. Use the retaining strap
- Remove the screw for the lateral link at the wheel spindle.
Removing the rear bushing
- Fold down the lateral link carefully
- Use tool 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder with 999 7054 Adapter incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 999 7054 Adapter Incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 , 999 7035 Sleeve 999 7035 Sleeve , 999 7036 Drift 999 7036 Drift and 999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400
- Bend the brake cover outwards slightly so that there is room for the hydraulic cylinder
- Pull the bushing out.
Note! Center 999 7040 Drift 999 7040 Drift carefully on the bushing to prevent damaging the spindle when pulling out.
Installation
Installing the rear bushing
- Use tool 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder with 999 7054 Adapter incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 999 7054 Adapter Incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 , 999 7036 Drift 999 7036 Drift , 999 7035 Sleeve 999 7035 Sleeve and 999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400
- Press in the new bushing
- Remove the tools
- Fold back the lateral link and install the screws. Do not tighten. Remove the tensioner strap.
Finishing
Applies only to All-wheel drive (AWD):
Tension the rear suspension to the normal position. See Normal position Normal Position.
Does not apply to AWD:
Install tensioner and tension the rear suspension to the normal position. See Tensioner, instructions for use, M66, TF-80SC, AW55-50/51SN, M56 Tensioner, Instructions For Use.
Applies to all models:
Tighten the screws for the lateral link. Tighten to 80 Nm.
Install:
- the brake disc
- the brake caliper. Use new screws. Tighten to 50 Nm
- the brake line bracket
- the wheel. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
Check/adjust the wheel alignment. See: Wheel alignment, checking / adjusting Service and Repair.
