Power Steering Fluid Reservoir: Service and Repair

Removing the fluid reservoir





- Install lock grip pliers on the return hose from the fluid reservoir as close to the power steering pump as possible.

Warning: Avoid skin contact with the oil.





- Extract the oil using the suction unit
- Lift the fluid reservoir from its mounting
- Disconnect both the hoses from the reservoir
- Remove the reservoir.

Installing fluid reservoir





- Install the reservoir in reverse order
- Top up with oil. Use Volvo power steering fluid, P/N 1161529-1 to ensure the correct oil quality.
