Bushing, brake pedal, replacing

Remove the driver's side soundproofing panel




Grip the upper edge of the soundproofing panel. Pull down out of its clips.
Remove the soundproofing panel.

Prepare to remove the brake and clutch pedals





Remove:
- the clips for the brake and clutch pedal
- the pedal position sensor from the clutch pedal. Disconnect the connector
- the pedal position sensor from the mounting and firewall. Pull it straight out.

Continue disconnecting the brake and clutch components




Disconnect the push rod for the clutch and brake pedal.
Depress the clutch pedal. Remove the auxiliary spring.
Remove the screw holding the clutch pedal bracket down at the firewall (Torx).

Remove the clutch pedal with bracket




Remove the screw holding the brake and clutch pedal in bracket.
Remove the clutch pedal with the bracket.

Remove the brake pedal




Pull out the brake pedal screw as far as possible.
Press out the brake pedal bracket a little. Turn the pedal downwards and pull out the screw. The screw remains in the bracket.

Note! Take care that the stop lamp switch is not damaged when removing the brake pedal.

Check stop lamp switch

Remove the bushings from the brake pedal




Push the guide sleeve out of the brake pedal.
Remove the bushings.

Install the bushings in the brake pedal




Lubricate the new bushings using grease, P/N 1161241-3.
Install the bushings and the guide sleeve in the brake pedal.

Install the brake pedal




Angle the screw upwards in the bracket.
Install the brake pedal on the screw. Push the bracket slightly to one side. Fold up the brake pedal in the bracket.
Press the screw into the brake pedal.

Install the clutch components





Install:
- the clutch pedal with bracket
- torx screw. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Tighten the mounting screw. Tighten to 40 Nm.

Install the brake and clutch components





Install:
- the auxiliary spring for the clutch pedal. Press down the clutch pedal and install the spring
- the push rod on the clutch pedal. Secure it using the retaining clip
- the push rod on the brake pedal. Lock it using the retaining clip.

Continue installing the brake and clutch components





Install:
- the pedal position sensor (between the clutch pedal and the firewall)
- the clips for brake and the clutch pedal.
Check the function of the brake and clutch pedal and pedal position sensor.
Reinstall the soundproofing panel.
