Important information
This method only applies to S60 R Sport.
The spoiler is taped, pop riveted and bonded.
Removal
Removing spoiler
Remove the 5 x pop rivets. See Removing rivet .
Pull the spoiler away from the bumper liner.
Use a weatherstrip tool. Carefully remove the tape and adhesive joint.
Hint: Bend the bottom edge of the spoiler out and cut using a sharp knife.
Caution! Do not damage the surrounding area. Use tape to protect the bumper.
Installation
Preparatory work
Remove the tape residue. Use 951 2942 Circle 951 2942 Circle and 951 2949 Holder 951 2949 Holder.
Cut off the adhesive residue using a knife or similar.
Clean the bumper cover using cleaner 116 1436. Clean the area where the spoiler will be located. Dry using a clean lint-free cloth.
Caution! Ensure that the trunk lid and the spoiler are at a temperature of +16 °C or more.
Installing spoiler
Apply adhesive 116 1767 to the corner on the inside of the spoiler.
Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape for the spoiler.
Press the spoiler into position.
Note! Check that the hole pattern in the spoiler matches the hole pattern in the bumper. Check that the tape is against the whole surface to be taped.
Install the spoiler on the bumper cover using a pop rivet.
Apply adhesive 116 1767 on the inside of the spoiler, over the tape.
Hint: Fold down the flexible hinge (1) before starting to bond.
Install:
- the bumper cover bracket. Use 2 x pop rivets
- the flexible hinge. Use a pop rivet
- the spoiler to the wheel arch. Use a pop rivet
- the spoiler bracket. Use a pop rivet.
Note! If the vehicle did not have a spoiler previously, or if there are no holes in the spoiler, drill holes using a - 5 mm drill bit.
Use the mounting holes as a template.
