- Clean the mating surfaces for the spoiler against the boot lid. Use a mixture of 30% windscreen washer fluid and 70% water
- Wipe dry
- Take the tape from the kit. Remove the thin protective film. Leave the thick film in place. Press the tape firmly against the mating surfaces.

Note! The tape must cure for 24 hours at a minimum of 20°C (68°F) before painting.

- Install the foam covering on the underside of the spoiler, in the oval depression
Spray paint according to "Touch up spraying".

- Take the sheet containing the drilling templates from the kit. Cut out the drilling templates.

Illustration A

- Position the left and right-hand drilling templates against the rear corners of the boot lid. See the illustration
- Ensure that the templates exactly cover the edges of the boot lid. Loosely secure the templates using tape
- Measure the distance between the hole markings on the cardboard templates. Use a soft tape measure that follows the shape of the boot lid. The distance between the hole markings must be 1063.2 mm (41 55/64").

Note! The radian measure must be measured.

- If the distance is correct: secure the drilling templates firmly using tape.

Illustration B

- Mark through the template and on the boot lid using an awl.

Note! Press carefully as the panel section is made of plastic.

Illustration C

- Open the boot lid. Position the boot lid as illustrated. To achieve the correct drilling angle, the distance from the join between the plastic and the panel for the rear wing must be 135 mm (5 5/16")
- Place an object under the lid to provide support.

- Pre-drill straight through the boot lid. Use a 3 mm (1/8") diameter drill bit.

Note! Drill carefully as the panel is made of aluminium.

- Drill out the hole. Use the 7.3 mm / 12.5 mm (9/32" / 31/64") diameter special drill bit (P/N 8633152). Continue drilling until the larger drill bit just comes into contact with the aluminium in the boot lid under the plastic. Drill a little at a time. Check the depth.

Note! Do not scratch the layer of paint on the aluminium panel with the large drill bit.

- Use compressed air to blow away any swarf. Carefully increase the gap between the plastic and the panel in order to remove the swarf more easily
- File down the edges of the hole
- Repeat the operation on the right-hand side.

- Check that the spoiler aligns in the drilled holes. Screw the two locating pins into the holes in the spoiler. Then insert the two locating pins in the holes in the boot lid
- If necessary: adjust the holes using a small round file
- Treat the edges of the holes using a rust-proofing agent.

- Clean the surfaces on which the spoiler is to be installed. Use a mixture of 30% windscreen washer fluid and 70% water
- Wipe dry.

Note! To ensure the best results, it is recommended that two people press the spoiler onto the boot lid.

Illustration A

- Remove the protective film from the mounting tape for the spoiler
- Reinstall the locating pins in the spoiler.

Illustration B

- Insert the bushings in the bored holes in the panel
- Grip both ends of the spoiler. Carefully insert the locating pins in the holes in the boot lid
- Press the spoiler firmly against the boot lid
- Take the M6 screws and the plastic washers from the kit
- Open the boot lid. Remove the two locating pins
- Apply locking fluid (P/N 1161053) to the screw threads
- Tighten the screws to the spoiler. Tighten to 5 Nm (3.7 lbf. ft.).

Note! Do not exceed this torque.

Note! Leave the car indoors for 2 hours after carrying out the work. Do not wash the car for 48 hours.
