Removing the cargo net
Note! The cargo net is part of the safety system in the car. Safety cannot be guaranteed if the instructions are not followed when installing or removing the cargo net.
Note! If the cargo net is dropped or handled carelessly, its function may be negatively affected. If this happens, the cargo net must be replaced. Always check that the cargo net is secure.
Warning! If the stop pins are not installed or release during or after installation, the cargo net must be replaced.
Warning! There is a risk of personal injury if the end plates are rotated.
Preparations
Locking pins must be ordered before the cargo net is removed from the car.
Remove:
- the backrest lock according to Backrest catches Backrest Catches
- the panel according to Upholstery back rest, replacing Upholstery Back Rest, Replacing
- the side piece according to Side piece Side Piece
- the side piece from the cargo net according to The side piece for the cargo net Side Piece for the Cargo Net.
Pull the cargo net out fully.
Lock and secure the cargo net using the locking pins.
Note! Secure the cargo net with locking pins on each side.
Carefully pull the end plate (the narrow side) approximately 6 mm straight out to the side in the direction of the seat divide.
Lift up the end plate.
Do the same on the other side.
Lift out the cargo net.
Installing the cargo net
Roll out the net so that it is hanging over the front of the rear seat backrest with the seam upwards.
Note! Check that the bobbin is not twisted. The seam must be visible.
Pull the end plate approximately six mm straight out to the side.
Insert the time guide side (the thickest short side), and then the other side.
Press the end plate approximately six mm back in.
Slide the lock piece into place. Ensure that the hooks in the side piece secure in the grooves in the backrest frame.
Install the lower screw (1). Tighten the screw lightly, ensuring that the side still moves freely.
Install the screw (2), lightly tightened.
Install the screws (3 and 4), lightly tightened.
Tighten the screws in the same order as before. Tighten to 7 Nm.
Hold up the net so that it is fully unrolled.
Remove pin (A) and then pin (B).
Note! It is very important that the pins are removed in the correct order.
Allow the net to roll in carefully while keeping the hatch in the side piece open.
Check the function by pulling out the cargo net as far as possible and checking whether the net locks within two seconds.
If the cargo net does not lock within two seconds: Replace the cargo net.
Install the backrest catch and other components.
Check that the locking arm on the lock is correctly positioned at the time guide on the cargo net.
